The Sooks are a surf rock/indie band from Eora/Sydney, Australia.

From jamming in their mate’s garage to headlining sold-out shows in some of Sydney’s hottest venues, surf rock/indie band The Sooks have been making waves with their fresh sound and infectious energy. Carving their own space in the Australian music scene with their charming vibe and catchy tunes, fans can expect a sound reminiscent of Skegss, The Terrys and DICE

The band’s journey has been one of steady growth and increasing recognition. Their entry into the Aussie music scene in 2022 saw them performing at small local venues, where their energy and charismatic stage presence began to attract attention. That momentum has led the band to headlining massive shows at iconic Sydney venues such as the Oxford Art Factory, Waywards, and The Chippo Hotel, cementing their reputation as one of the city’s most exciting live acts.

The 2024 debut EP ‘Oyster Boy’ marked a key step in the band’s evolution, featuring a collection of surfy, upbeat tracks with some sweet, heartfelt moments. The record represented a new level of artistic growth for the band, and the EP’s top tracks, ‘Burn Me Out’ and ‘Figure It Out’, have gotten the band featured on major editorial playlists, including ‘Local Noise’ and ‘All New Rock’

After making their festival debut over the New Year period with appearances at The Great Escape and Good Gumnuts in Tasmania, the band is set to play The Big Chill Festival in Armidale later this month!

Next up for the boys is their brand new single ‘Kickstarter’, dropping June 13th. The track marks the band's evolution into a more mature sound, and is the lead single to their next big project. To support the release, the band will hit the road for an east coast tour across July and August, including stops in Newcastle and Wollongong supporting Melbourne band Press Club.

With a growing list of milestones and their most exciting new music set for release this year, The Sooks are well and truly on the rise. Their catchy, feel-good choruses and rowdy live sets continue to turn heads and pull in new fans with every show. Whether it’s an intimate venue or a festival stage, the band is carving out a fresh path in the Aussie indie scene, and they’re just getting started.
